The Vivolink VLUSB3EXT100 is a USB 3.0 extender kit consisting of a transmitter (Tx) and a receiver (Rx) that enables extending USB 3.2 Gen1 connections up to 100 metres over standard Cat5e/6/7 network cable. It provides four downstream USB ports for connecting devices such as cameras, speakers, touchscreens or other USB 3.2 Gen1 peripherals. The transmitter is bus-powered from the host computer while the remote receiver uses an external power supply to ensure sufficient power for connected USB devices. A USB-B to USB-A cable is not included.

How to use

Connect the transmitter unit to the host computer using a USB-A male cable. Connect the transmitter and receiver using a single Cat5e/6/7 network cable, observing the required maximum distance of 100 metres. Plug the external power supply into the receiver to power attached USB devices. Connect up to four USB peripherals to the receiver’s downstream USB ports. Install any necessary device drivers on the host computer when prompted.

Usage recommendations

For reliable high-speed performance use quality shielded Cat6A or Cat6 cable and avoid running the cable near strong electromagnetic interference sources. Ensure the receiver’s power supply is connected when using power-hungry devices such as external hard drives, cameras or printers. Purchase a USB-B to USB-A cable separately if required for the host connection.
