Masonry sieve Vorel 34945 60x100 cm, mesh 6 mm
The Masonry sieve Vorel 34945 60x100 cm with 6 mm mesh is a handheld and support-mountable tool for separating coarse particles from sand, gravel and mortar on construction and renovation sites. Its rigid rectangular frame and evenly spaced wire mesh help produce a consistent fine material suitable for masonry mixes, plaster and tile adhesives. The open design allows rapid screening and easy removal of oversize particles to improve batch uniformity and reduce clumps in mixes.
The 60 x 100 cm working area provides broad coverage to screen larger volumes faster while the 6 mm aperture retains oversized stones and debris. The rigid frame maintains mesh tension for reliable performance during repeated use. Lightweight construction enables handheld operation or quick fixation to supports, increasing workflow flexibility on-site. The simple, low-maintenance design requires no power and is easy to clean after use.
Position the sieve over a clean container, wheelbarrow or on a pair of supports at a comfortable working height. Pour material onto the center of the mesh and move the material across the surface using a trowel, shovel or by gentle shaking to allow fine particles to pass through while retaining oversize pieces. Periodically clear trapped debris from the mesh surface and tap the frame lightly to dislodge particles. For larger batches, secure the sieve to supports and feed material continuously to increase throughput.
Use personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection when sieving dusty materials. Avoid forcing excessively wet or compacted mixes through the mesh; pre-break clumps and allow overly wet material to dry or be partially blended before sieving to prevent clogging. After use, clean the mesh and frame to remove adhered material and store the sieve in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
