PoE Passive Cable Set WELL Injector and Splitter 10000295
PoE Passive Cable Set WELL Injector and Splitter 10000295
WELL PoE Passive Cable Set (model 10000295) is a complete two-piece passive Power over Ethernet solution consisting of an injector and a splitter. It delivers both power and network connectivity over standard Ethernet cable to devices with a 2.1 mm power jack, enabling installation where mains power is not available at the device location.
The set follows common passive PoE wiring: the centre pin of the power connector is tied to the centre pair (blue pair) and the sleeve is tied to the outer pair (brown pair). It is compact, easy to install and suitable for short cable runs—typically up to about 10 m—where active PoE is not required or available. The kit reduces the need for separate power outlets and simplifies cabling for small office, retail or residential deployments.
Connect the injector to a suitable DC power supply (observe the device’s required voltage and polarity) and plug the Ethernet cable between injector and splitter. At the remote end, plug the splitter’s DC connector into the device’s 2.1 mm power jack and connect the splitter’s Ethernet port to the device’s network port. Ensure cable run length is short (around 10 m) to avoid excessive voltage drop with passive PoE.
Do not attempt to compensate for voltage drop on long ethernet runs by using a power supply with a higher nominal voltage than recommended by your device manufacturer. Voltage drop occurs only when current flows; if the remote device reduces current draw (for example during reboot), full source voltage can appear at the far end and may damage the device’s input circuitry. For longer distances, use active PoE solutions designed for extended runs.
