The wolfcraft GmbH Dowelling Jig is a multifunctional woodworking aid for accurate dowel drilling, shelf support holes in the 32 mm grid, hinge and fitting hole positioning, and for use as a guide rail when drawing, cutting, sawing or milling. The jig consists of an aluminium guide rail with lock-in holes spaced 32 mm apart and a drill slide that accepts bushes for 5, 6, 8 or 10 mm drill bits. Angle stops set the distance from the hole row to the board edge (12–40 mm), and side stops define the start and end points of the dowel row. How to use

Mark board edges with a carpenter's triangle to ensure correct positioning. Insert the appropriate drill bush (5, 6, 8 or 10 mm) into the drill slide from underneath and slide the drill slide into the selected lock-in hole on the aluminium rail to set the required hole spacing. Use the angle stops inserted under the profile to set the distance from the hole row to the board edge (12–40 mm) and set the side stops to define the start and end points of the row. Clamp the jig securely to the workpiece with suitable clamps and use a depth stop on the drill to control drilling depth.

Usage recommendations

When making corner butt joints clamp the board vertically and ensure the lateral stop contacts the board edge aligned with the carpenter's triangle; secure the jig with clamps, drill the first hole and note the scale position for subsequent holes, then engage the drill slide in every third hole for aligned dowel rows. Always use appropriate clamps and a depth stop to prevent through-drilling and to maintain consistent joint quality.
