SFP+ Module XtendLan XL-MTB-T is a 10 Gb/s RJ45 copper transceiver that fits into SFP+ (mini-GBIC) ports to deliver 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper cabling. The module provides short-reach 10 GbE connectivity for compatible switches, servers and network aggregation points, allowing use of existing Cat6/Cat6a installations where fiber optics are not required.
The XtendLan XL-MTB-T offers standard SFP+ form factor compatibility, enabling hot-pluggable installation in supported equipment. It uses RJ45 copper interface for straightforward connection to existing structured cabling, reducing the need for fiber transceivers or new cabling. The module supports 10 Gbps throughput for uplinks and server connections and simplifies deployment when short-reach copper links are preferred.
Insert the SFP+ Module XtendLan XL-MTB-T into a compatible SFP+ port on a switch or server according to the equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Connect an appropriate Cat6 or Cat6a copper cable to the RJ45 connector. Ensure the host device supports SFP+ copper transceivers and configure link settings (speed/duplex/autonegotiation) on the network device if required. Observe electrostatic discharge precautions during handling.
Use Cat6a cabling for reliable performance at the full 10 Gb/s distance limits over copper and verify compatibility with the switch or server vendor for best interoperability. For longer distances or electromagnetic-sensitive environments, consider fiber optic transceivers instead of copper.
