Yato YT-692612 carpenter's pencil is a set of twelve varnished wooden carpentry pencils designed for marking and drawing on wood and wood-based materials. Each pencil measures approximately 175 mm in length and has an oval body that provides a stable grip. The flat HB lead, about 2 x 5 mm in cross-section, delivers visible, consistent lines suitable for technical work and precise layout tasks in joinery and woodworking.
The oval wooden body reduces rolling on inclined surfaces and offers improved hand control compared with round pencils. Varnished finish protects the wood from moisture and wear during routine use. Flat HB lead produces clear, easily visible marks that are suitable for cutting lines and measurements while remaining easy to sharpen with standard carpenter’s pencil sharpeners or a knife.
Select a pencil from the pack and sharpen the flat lead with a carpenter’s pencil sharpener or a knife to obtain the desired tip width—sharp for fine lines, blunted for broader marks. Hold the pencil with the flat side to the workpiece for a wide, visible line or rotate to use the thin edge for precision. Mark directly on wood, plywood, MDF and other wood-based materials for cutting, drilling locations or assembly guides. Store the pencils in a dry place to maintain the varnish and wooden body.
For accurate layout, use the flat face of the lead for clear cutting lines and the edge for fine reference marks. Replace or resharpen the pencil tip regularly for consistent line quality. When working outdoors or in humid conditions, keep spare pencils sealed to protect the varnish and prevent swelling.
