The Zyxel GS1005HP is an unmanaged 5-port gigabit Ethernet switch with four PoE+ ports and a total PoE budget of 60 W. Designed for small offices and SOHOs, it provides plug-and-play connectivity for PoE devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras and VoIP phones while delivering gigabit data rates and energy-saving functions in a compact, fanless housing.

Advantages

The switch supports IEEE 802.3af/802.3at (PoE/PoE+) with up to 30 W per port and a 60 W total budget, an LED indicator warns when power use approaches the 50 W threshold, and the device will gracefully drop the last-powered device if the budget is exceeded. Gigabit ports deliver up to 2,000 Mbps dedicated bandwidth per port and support Jumbo Frame, flow control and auto-negotiation. A fanless metal enclosure provides silent operation and improved long-term reliability, and IEEE 802.3az EEE reduces power consumption during low traffic periods.

How to use

Place the switch on a flat, ventilated surface and connect each network device using standard Cat5e/6 Ethernet cables. PoE-capable ports will automatically detect and supply power to compatible devices—no configuration is required. Monitor the front-panel LEDs to check link status and observe the orange PoE indicator that signals when total power consumption reaches approximately 50 W. If the switch exceeds its 60 W budget, the last connected powered device will be turned off to protect the remaining devices.
