Mini Circuit Breaker ABB SH201-C25A 1P C 25A 6kA
Mini Circuit Breaker ABB SH201-C25A 1P C 25A 6kA
ABB SH201-C25A is a single-pole (1P) mini circuit breaker designed to provide reliable overcurrent and short-circuit protection for residential and light-commercial electrical installations. With a C-type tripping characteristic and a rated current of 25 A, this device is suitable for circuits that experience moderate inrush currents, such as lighting circuits, general-purpose sockets and small motor loads. The breaker offers a breaking capacity of 6 kA, ensuring safe disconnection under fault conditions and compatibility with common distribution boards.
The SH201-C25A combines compact DIN-rail mounting form factor with standardized thermal-magnetic tripping to deliver predictable protection and straightforward coordination within distribution panels. Its C-type curve allows tolerance for short-duration inrush currents while still responding promptly to sustained overloads and short circuits. Installation and replacement are simplified thanks to the standard mini circuit breaker footprint and clear current rating marking.
This single-pole 25 A breaker is not suitable for three-phase circuits or installations that require coordinated multi-pole disconnection of all phases. It may be unsuitable where higher breaking capacity is required (above 6 kA) or where specialized tripping characteristics (B, D, or selective types) are needed for specific industrial loads. For high inrush or large motor protection, a different curve or higher rated device should be considered.
Install the breaker on a standardized DIN rail within the distribution board, observing correct polarity and conductor sizing for a 25 A protected circuit. Connect line and load conductors to the indicated terminals and tighten to the torque recommended by the panel manufacturer. Use the breaker to switch and protect the designated circuit; manual operation is possible via the toggle. After a trip, isolate the fault, verify the wiring and load conditions, then reset the breaker by switching the toggle back to the ON position.
Use the SH201-C25A where standard residential or light-commercial protection is required and coordinate it with upstream devices. For motors or circuits with higher inrush currents, consult protection tables or an electrician to determine whether a different tripping curve or higher-rated breaker is more appropriate.
