The BlueOptics SFP6143EU5MKB InfiniBand fibre optic cable is a 5 m multimode OM3 breakout cable with an MTP (multi-fiber push-on) connector on one end and four ST duplex connectors on the other. Designed for high-speed InfiniBand and optical lane connections, this cable uses G50/125 µm OM3 fibre optimized for 850 nm transmission and comes in an aqua LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket for reduced smoke and no halogen release in case of fire. The cable is intended for integration with MTP cassettes and QSFP/parallel optics deployments requiring 8 cores (pinout 1-4 & 9-12).
The breakout design eliminates the need for splicing and special assembly tools, allowing faster installation and straightforward deployment in data centers and networking closets. High-quality fibres from established manufacturers and zirconia ceramic ferrules in branded connectors ensure low insertion loss, high return loss and a long mating-cycle lifetime. Each cable is factory-tested with interferometry and OTDR; a matching measurement protocol for insertion loss and return loss is supplied with the product.
Connect the MTP end to the appropriate MTP port or cassette module, aligning the key and pinout orientation. Route the breakout legs to the target ST ports and insert the ST duplex connectors into the corresponding transceivers or patch panel ports. Ensure fibre bend radius is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and secure the cable using appropriate cable management to avoid stress on connectors. No field splicing or polishing is required; use the supplied test report to verify link loss against system budgets during commissioning.
For reliable performance, install the cable in a clean environment, avoid tight bends and excessive tensile load, and use compatible MTP cassettes and ST-equipped transceivers. Verify insertion loss against system specifications before putting links into production and store spare cables in a dry, dust-free location.
