Patch panel DIGITUS CAT 5e Class D, RJ-45 connectors, grey, Cat5e support
Patch panel DIGITUS CAT 5e Class D, RJ-45 connectors, grey, Cat5e support
The DIGITUS CAT 5e Class D patch panel is a 19" rack-mount unit with 24 shielded RJ45 ports designed for structured copper cabling. It supports Cat5e links up to 100 MHz and is suitable for 10/100Base-T and 1GBase-T networks. The panel complies with EN 50173, ISO/IEC 11801 and EIA/TIA 568 standards and features a neutral grey finish. Its steel housing and full shield coverage provide a reliable termination point for horizontal Ethernet runs in offices, server rooms and network cabinets.
The product offers easy and consistent cable termination with color-coded LSA strips compatible with EIA/TIA 568 A & B wiring schemes, reducing installation time and errors. Shielded RJ45 ports and 360° shield coverage improve electromagnetic compatibility and help maintain signal integrity in environments with potential interference. Robust mechanical construction, including a 1.5 mm galvanized cold-rolled steel housing and durable contact materials, ensures long service life and secure rack mounting.
Mount the patch panel into a standard 19" rack or cabinet using appropriate screws and cage nuts. Route horizontal Cat5e cables to the rear of the panel and terminate each conductor pair on the color-coded LSA/Krone IDC strips following EIA/TIA 568 A or B wiring scheme. Ensure the cable shield is connected to the panel ground via the central ground connection and use the provided cable ties to secure cable bundles. Once terminated, plug standard shielded RJ45 patch cords into the front ports to connect network devices or switches.
To preserve performance, use shielded patch cords and maintain proper grounding for the shielded panel. Follow cable bend-radius guidelines and avoid running signal cables parallel to power lines. Verify terminations with a suitable network tester to confirm continuity, pair sequencing and performance to Cat5e limits.
