Extralink PoE Injector Gigabit 8 Port is an 8-port PoE injector that supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet and provides simultaneous data and power delivery over RJ45 connectors. The device includes 8 PoE RJ45 sockets and one DC power input (5.5 mm). It follows Mode B powering (pins 4/5 = +, 7/8 = -) while data is carried on the standard data pairs (1/2 & 3/6). The unit is intended to be used with an external AC‑DC supply; the total output power must not exceed the adapter's maximum rated power.
The injector delivers Gigabit throughput on all eight ports while adding PoE power on the specified pairs, enabling simultaneous power and data transmission over standard Ethernet cabling. Its compact form factor (approximately 200 × 270 × 320 mm) and a single 5.5 mm DC input simplify installation and cabling. The recommended power guideline (about 10 W per RJ45 kit, where 1 kit = 2 RJ45 sockets) helps to select a suitable AC‑DC adapter and prevents overloading the power supply.
Connect a standard Ethernet cable from your switch, hub or PC to the LAN RJ45 connector(s) on the injector. Connect PoE-capable devices to the PoE RJ45 sockets; these sockets transmit both data and power according to Mode B wiring. Attach a compatible AC‑DC adapter to the 5.5 mm DC input, ensuring the adapter's maximum output power meets or exceeds the total required power for all connected devices. Verify cable wiring and device compatibility before powering the system.
Use an AC‑DC adapter sized according to the recommended formula (approximately 10 W per RJ45 kit). If powering all eight ports, choose an adapter rated for at least 80 W to avoid overloading the power supply. Use quality Cat5e or better cabling and confirm that connected devices support Mode B PoE.
