Print Server Longshine LCS-PS112
The Longshine LCS-PS112 Print Server connects printers directly to an Ethernet network, allowing every workstation on the network to access attached printers. It provides two USB printer ports and one parallel port so up to three printers can be shared across the network. The device uses an RDC 2886 processor with 1 MB flash memory and supports common networking standards and protocols for reliable integration in small offices and larger printer-farm environments.
The LCS-PS112 supports bidirectional communication, DHCP client operation, firmware upgrades and job logging. It can be managed via a web interface, a Windows administration tool (PS-Admin-Tool), Telnet or HP Web JetAdmin. Additional features include Internet printing support, e-mail alerting and compatibility with Windows Print Monitor technology. These capabilities simplify printer deployment and centralised management.
Physically connect printers to the device using the two USB ports and the parallel port, then connect the print server to the Ethernet network. Configure network settings using the PS-Admin-Tool, the web interface or Telnet; enable DHCP or assign a static IP as required. Install printers on client workstations using the appropriate network port or queue name and, if needed, use HP Web JetAdmin for centralised management. Perform firmware updates via the provided management interface to keep the device current.
Place the LCS-PS112 in a location with stable network connectivity and ensure connected printers are compatible with USB or parallel (ECP) interfaces. Regularly update firmware and monitor job logs and e-mail alerts to maintain reliable printing service.
