Print Server Longshine 3-Port Parallel Printserver
Print Server Longshine 3-Port Parallel Printserver
The Longshine 3-Port Parallel Printserver provides a compact solution for connecting parallel printers to an Ethernet LAN, enabling shared printing across Windows, Mac, UNIX and Linux systems. Supporting IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u networking standards, the device integrates with common network protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX, NetBEUI and AppleTalk to deliver reliable network printing in small office and workgroup environments. The print server requires a 5V/2A power supply and features a single RJ-45 Ethernet port for network connectivity.
The print server simplifies printer sharing without requiring a dedicated print server PC, reducing network complexity and administrative overhead. Broad protocol support ensures compatibility with a variety of operating systems and legacy network setups. Its adherence to CE and FCC Class A certifications reflects compliance with international electromagnetic and safety standards. The compact design and single Ethernet interface make installation straightforward in typical LAN environments.
Connect the Longshine print server to your network using a standard Ethernet cable into the RJ-45 port and attach your parallel printer to the device's parallel port. Apply the required 5V/2A power supply and power on the unit. Configure network settings and protocol options using the included management utility or web interface according to your LAN requirements. Install the appropriate printer drivers on client machines and add the network printer via the operating system's printer setup using the print server's IP address or network name.
Use the print server in a stable LAN environment with a fixed IP address or reserved DHCP lease to ensure consistent printer access. For mixed-OS networks, verify protocol support (TCP/IP, IPX or AppleTalk) on client systems and choose the protocol that best matches your existing network services. Keep the device firmware up to date when updates are available and place the unit in a well-ventilated area away from strong electromagnetic interference sources to maintain reliable operation.
