Horn antenna RF Elements HG3-CC-S30
The RF Elements HG3-CC-S30 Symmetrical Horn Carrier Class Gen2 is a scalar horn sector antenna for 5.18–6.40 GHz with an N-type female connector and 50 Ω impedance. The antenna provides a circular main-beam cross-section (identical azimuth and elevation beam widths), stable gain across the operating band, and compact, durable construction with a solid aluminium body. Model S30 offers a 30° main beam and a maximum gain of 18.4 dBi, with dimensions 345 × 301 × 217 mm and a weight of 2.4 kg.
The Symmetrical Horn CC Gen2 focuses energy into a single main beam without side lobes, reducing noise pickup and improving spectrum efficiency. Its frequency-independent radiation pattern and stable gain over the whole 5.18–6.40 GHz band deliver consistent performance across channels. The compact footprint (20–25% of traditional sectors), robust materials, and N-type female connectors allow flexible deployment with many connectorized radios while lowering tower space and rental requirements.
Mount the HG3-CC-S30 on a tower or mast using appropriate mounting hardware and align the antenna so the 30° main beam covers the intended sector. Connect the radio using a compatible N-type male-to-male cable or use the radio’s coaxial port where supported. Ensure the antenna is positioned to avoid obstructions in the main beam and secure all fasteners to manufacturer torque recommendations. Verify radio configuration for the 5.18–6.40 GHz band and perform RF testing to confirm coverage and isolation.
Use narrow, tightly packed sectors when high density and spectrum reuse are required; maintain clear line-of-sight in the main beam to fully benefit from the antenna’s lack of side lobes and stable gain across the band.
